A generously-sized cotton hand towel with a thick weave and colorful checkerboard pattern. Also known as a "pit towel" in Germany, towels like these were favored by miners, who would use them to wrap up their lunches to be carried down into the pit. Keep them in the kitchen or in the bath, their absorbency and size make them handy in either location.
